ABOUT

Early in life, Baylus C. Brooks studied engineering and applied that knowledge as a commercial glazier.  In 1991, he has also worked as an artist, creating etched glass art as well as commercial landscapes.  In 1991, he began painting on glass for a local stained glass company and opened his own stained glass business two years later.  Since that time, he has returned to complete a Master's degree in Maritime Studies and has begun using his artistic talents and scientific knowledge on conserving objects and documents as well as excelling in historic research and writing.

In 2013, Brooks opened Brooks Historic Preservation to facilitate conservation and preservation of our historic heritage.  We can provide repairs to many fine objects, including stained glass, antiques, metal, glass, and paper.  Owing to the word craft training and publishing experience of Mr. Brooks, he also offers tutoring, writing, and editing services to students and professionals.
